What Should I Do Before Getting My Tattoo

Before your appointment, there are a few things you need to know to make your tattoo experience as possible.
  • Please keep the area that will be tattooed protected from the sun and sunbeds. A suntan will make your skin thick and leathery, subsequently making it more difficult to do a good job. Peeling skin will make the tattoo impossible and sunburn will make it very painful
  • Remember, the sun will fade tattoos, so a strong sunblock will protect your investment
  • If you are planning a trip to a hot country before or immediately after your tattoo you may need to move your appointment with us
  • The same goes for training, swim races or jacuzzi parties, no problemjust give us a call and we'll shift things around
  • You must give us 24 hours notice to keep your deposit
  • You need plenty of energy to get tattooed, so please eat well and rest up the night before
  • Drinking alcohol, working the graveyard shift, getting stones or generally burning the midnight oil will not put you in the right mental or physical state or tattoo. Even risidual alcohol from the night before or a little "dutch courage" will make you bleed or possibly pass out
  • Not too much caffeine either, you need to be relaxed
  • Most people don't need to be told this but please shower before your appointment
  • Eat well on the morning of your tattoo and do not drink alcohol or take recreational drugs
  • Don't apply any lotions to the area and please leave the shaving to us
  • Ladies! Tattooing and childbirth haven proven that you are not the weaker sex! However, the time lead up to your "Moon Cycle", can for some, (I'm treading on eggshells here) be a tender time. (Guys, are you reading this?!!). It may be a good idea, if you'r a sensitive soul, to book in AFTER your cycle.
  • Please wear clothes that you aren't too precious of (particularly white jeans and tops), we do try to decorate only your skin but drips of ink do happen and there may be a little blood
  • You could also think about wearing something to protect your modesty if having an intimate tattoo (for guys, a sock works fine! For girls a zip up top can be worn reversed easily).
  • Loose well worn clothing can also make the journey home comfortable.
  • Please let us know of any medical condition and allergies or if you are using medication such as aspirin or if you are pregnant
Thank you for your cooperation and enjoy your tattoo
